Telepsych/Virtual Counseling

I know it’s sometimes hard to meet for a therapy session at my office. You may be too busy, live too far away, stuck at work, or have trouble finding childcare or transportation. To make it easier for you, I’ve added video counseling services to meet this growing need. Now I can meet wherever it’s most convenient for you — your office, your car, or even your living room.

Very similar to Skype or FaceTime, Doxy.me is easy to use – I promise! All you need to start the virtual counseling session is the web link to my Doxy.me room, a standard computer, or the Doxy.me app on your mobile device. No special hardware or software are necessary.

You will receive an e-mail from me containing a link to my Doxy.me waiting room. I recommend when you get the link you sign on and take a few minutes to familiarize yourself with Doxy.me. When it is time for your appointment you will sign on to the link for my waiting room and we will have the session similarly to an in-office session.

In most situations, I have found that meeting with clients through video counseling is just as effective as meeting face-to-face. However, it is important to note that counseling treatment plans are individualized and based on client need, virtual counseling may not be appropriate.

When having a video session, the same fees would apply as if you were meeting within my office. Due to online counseling’s ease of use, you might be more likely to stick with your therapy program.

Doxy.me uses state-of-the-art security and encryption protocols, making it both secure and HIPAA compliant.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I’m happy to help you decide whether virtual counseling makes sense for you. Give me a call to schedule a complementary 15-minute phone consultation session.
